Will the waves wash me and take me away?
Far from the cliffs all sprinkled with spray
Glittering like diamonds in light of the day
How far will I ride them, those curving blue waves?
Beneath their sleek skin, what will I find?
Mere currents of ocean as blue as the sky?
Under the water, my frail form can fly,
Deep I may travel, but what will I find?
The heart of the sea, dark as red wine?
Or the songs of the sirens, twisting my mind?
Or the souls of the sailors, drifting in time?
Or the heart of the sea, glowing with light.
Deep in my soul, I know this is right
That even the darkest of depths should have light
