I walked over to the juke box and paid for a song. It was a happy song. The penguins over in the corner started clapping their flippers. I laughed and walked back to my table.
The waitress came over to my table with a menu. "Here's a menu! Take your time picking something out-."
"That won't be necessary!" I declared, slapping the menu to the floor. "I already know what I'd like to order!"
"Oh wonderful! What will it be?"
"I think I'd really like a fresh penguin sandwich!"
The waitress wrinkled her nose. "Um, we don't have any penguin meat."
"Well that shouldn't be a problem! Look at what's clapping it's flippers over in the corner!"
The waitress turned slowly to observe the joyous penguins dancing to the music. "Um.."
"I have to leave in 25 minutes so I trust that you won't take long."
"Oh god..." The waitress picked the menu up off the floor and walked over to the corner. I took a sip of some water when suddenly the most horrific shrieks filled the diner.
I turned to see the waitress dragging one of the penguins by the feet across the tiled floor. The other penguins tried desperately to stop the abduction but they were no match for the waitress.
She and the screaming penguin disappeared behind the kitchen doors.
The merry music continued to pulse through the room as I took a second sip of water.
