I am a poet at heart and a middle school EL teacher by profession. I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. I have been writing poetry as a form of therapy since I was about twelve years old. Poetry has never been just a hobby. In each poem, "ink is my blood, and [the] pages are my skin [and every poem I've written is] the anatomy of what deeply lies within." While poetry is therapy, so is music. I have an ecceltic taste in music but gravitate more towards melodic/power metal. I believe there is a song for every occasion in life; a mixtape for every part of our lives we have lived.
poetry, fantasy novels, current events (well, moreso a painful obligation to keep up with the world), lyrics from my favorite bands/artists, stories behind the writing and production of songs and albums, and the silence which brings the most truth to my words.
Poetry. I write about anything that stabs me in the consciousness, tugs at my heart or hides in the shadows of my mind. I'm the type of poet who will whip out my phone (in the middle of a convo) just to capture a rhyme or an intriguing idea for a potential poem because I will feel incomplete if I allow the aforementioned to escape. . .I write to share because writing, no matter how personal, should establish a shared connection with others, which can lead to understanding and healing. Follow me on IG where you'll also find posts of my poetry and the link to my book on Amazon. :)
