Lightening Force

I bought Lightening Force for the Sega Genesis 27 years ago today on July 26, 1993.

It was also titled Thunder Force IV.

It's a side scrolling shooter that is similar to Gradius. It only cost twenty-eight bucks at Kmart. That's why I bought it.

It allows the player to arrange the first 4 stages in the order that he/she wants.

When I chose the number of ships you receive, I chose one ship. When I chose only one ship, I was shocked to learn that it gives 99 ships. It also lets the player have 6 continues.

Because it only takes one hit to destroy your ship, you'll need all 99 ships and at least a couple of continues to beat the game.

It actually has pretty good graphics to be a Genesis game.

If you collect Sega Genesis games, you may want to add Lightening Force/Thunder Force IV to your collection.
