Back in the late seventies, some of Atari's programmers were fed up with Atari. They wanted credit for the Atari 2600 games they were programming for Atari.
Atari refused to give them the credit they deserved so they quit Atari and started Activision.
If Atari had been willing to be fair, games like Pitfall and River Raid would not have been created. So it is my opinion that it turned out to be a good thing that Atari was unfair.
