A Bad Influence

While E.T. was a terrific movie, it was a bad influence on children.

When it was released in 1982, I was ten going on eleven years old and I had a seven year old friend.

When my friend watched the movie and saw E.T. get drunk, he continuously talked about drinking Coors beer.

My seven year old friend wanted to drink Coors beer very badly.

I'm sorry but any movie that makes a seven year old want to drink beer is a bad influence.

Because it made my friend want to drink beer, I'm guessing that it most likely made many other kids want to drink beer as well.

Because it's such a beloved movie, I hate to say that it's a bad influence, but I have to be honest about it.
