Elle reflects on what’s going on in her life. The silence is deafening.

Lackluster

What do I write when nothing is wrong,

Where there is no tears for sad, sad songs,

When friendships nourish and family flourish

When happiness and joy are prolong?

What do I think when all is good,

Where no gunshot or screams reverberate the hood

When hearts can sing and doves have wings

And one and all live life as should?

How do I live when I am blessed

Where I sleep in the universe's warm caress

Safe and sound, spirit unbound

A place where my ego can fully rest?

I'm so unsure of this sensation,

A place of peace for all the nation.

I won't fight it.
