And beside me he sleeps,
Hands wrapped 'round my waist,
And upon my chest rests his quiet face,
With his furrowed brow,
And a shaken sigh,
"Hush, my dear, you've no reason to cry."
And beside me he sleeps,
Though a rough day has past,
I'm his first in the morning,
And at night I'm his last,
And though my tears quiet,
Awakens does he,
Placing a kiss upon my cheek,
And comforting me.
Then once again,
His hands find my waist,
And again upon my chest he rests his quiet face,
And beside me
He sleeps.
