Chapter 11: Next Week (Consecutive Goals)

My recovery took more time than I anticipated. I was expecting my recovery to be just a day but it ended up being two days.

Before going to class, I'm gonna stop at the literature office to submit the story that caused me to fall ill.

"Are you sure that you are gonna submit it today?"

"Yes sir."

"There's still a week so if you want to make minor changes, feel free."

The only reason why I'm submitting early is because I don't want to be bothered by it. There is also a tendency that I might overthink the result.

It may mess up my schedule in class putting me in a tight situation. In short, I'm too lazy to care.

"Understood."

"I almost forgot, on around next week you'll be excused for a full day since we will go to the place where the winners will be announced."

I wonder what the class is doing by now, especially Mio.

After setting foot beside the door frame of our room, I saw Jeremy talking to Mio.

Even though Mio isn't really paying that much attention to whatever Jeremy's saying, he seems to be enthusiastic.

"Philip!"

And she saw me. I was planning on eavesdropping to their conversation but the chance is now gone.

"Mio!"

"Hey Philip, what happened to you?"

"I just caught a cold while finishing the story that the literature office assigned me to do."

"Then welcome back to the class."

I don't know what got inside Jeremy's head but he seems to be lively today. Well, if it's for the better for a person then there's no point in worrying.

"Speaking of stories, why did you write the incident that happened to us on the train!? And why did you make the protagonist fall in love with the girl on the train incident."

"What train incident are you two talking about?"

"Could it be that you have fallen in love with me?"

I feel bad for Jeremy being ignored. On the other hand, it appears that Mio is teasing me. Should I fight fire with fire?

"What if I said yes."

Ho ho, all flustered now hehe.

"Ahem ahem."

We almost forgot Jeremy's presence. After explaining the situation, his head seemed to be cleared out of confusion.

"Now that out of the way, I won't be attending classes next week because I'm going to compete with the story I just submitted."

"Jeremy, I'm asking you to take care of Mio while I'm away."

That was a weird sentence to say.

"Huh?"

Why did I get a 'huh' in response?

"I'm not a child anymore."

She has a point.

"Geez, you sound like a father asking a maid to take care of his daughter."

He also has a point.

"If that's how you comprehend it then I'm sorry."

I'm worried about what Mio might do. She has a unique thinking pattern so I can't really predict what her actions will be.

A week has passed and the day where I will face others will start tomorrow.

After spending time talking to myself in the mirror, I can't help but to feel the uncertainty on what might happen tomorrow. Will the wounds of my past reopen or will it heal.

I might consider this a do or die situation. I'm too scared to see the results.

What conclusion will I get? A conclusion that will make me face my past or a conclusion that will worsen my current situation.

My cowardness restrains my mind and body. I'll just let time and others push me on either one of my fated destinations.
