A poem about the old shed in my yard.

The Old Shack

By Maria Okumura

Everything is always just there

the shed out back

it sits without a care

that rotting old shack

The shed out back

holds quite the mystery

that rotting old shack

I wonder whats its history?

It holds quite the mystery

standing there all tattered and alone

whats the history

behind the rotted roof sitting on jagged stone

It stands tattered and alone

so tired, so done

Rotting roof and jagged stone stacked on jagged stone

growing old in that heavy sun

You're so tired and so done

always just there

You grow old in the burdening sun

Without a care.
