Just a poem about my relationship with time

Past

The present is where I find myself, But I was created in the past, I want to run back, To where I once was,

Because back there, Was where I felt safe, Every passing second adds up,

Into a minute, an hour, Then before you know it’s a new year, I fear the future and I wish had enjoyed the past, Then I remember I’m forever in the present,

Torturously too close and too far from both destinations, Sometimes,

The flow of time feels like a river, That is always washing over my mind, Flooding my thoughts,

I hope when the river dries up, I have learned to accept the ebb and flow of the tide, Instead of continuing to fruitlessly wage a war with time
