Today the sun is out and it's gonna be a great day. I can see all the way to the beach and I can even see a family of buffalo grazing on the lawn.
On the sidewalk is a politician standing on a soap box giving a very heartfelt speech about his new born baby dog. And over under a tree is a group of firefighters playing cards in the grass.
I decide to go outside and be a part of it all. I put on my wooden shoes and straw hat and make my way out the front door.
Outside the mood is even happier. The sun on my skin is nice. I take a deep breath.
The sound of my wooden shoes against the pavement make me feel cool. People are giving me the thumbs up.
I finally reach the lawn and go to where the firefighters are. I can see that they're really into their game.
"Roll it like a pizza pie dough, Fernando!"
"Aye, that's what I can and WILL do right here!"
I stand behind these ambitious men. There's sweat pouring down their faces from all the tension they've created, as well as from the heavy equipment strapped to their bodies.
A firefighter rolls the dice and gets a 12.
"THAT'S THE WAY TO MY HEART!!" Roars the fire chief.
"Let's see the money, Tammy!"
Tammy begrudgingly removes a 50 Peso bill from her pocket and hands it to Fernando.
"Sushi's on me today, fellas!" Roars Fernando.
The firefighters begin to pack up and leave, all the while replaying the whole game of dice in words. Once they're gone I sit down and rest my back against the tree.
