"Wow!" I screamed. "Today's coffee is just right and it even reminds me of when I was a boy and I used to watch the birds fly out over the horizon!"
"Yah, I remember that too," said my brother. "Remember the time that whale came up onto the beach and begged for some of your crackers? Do you remember that time?"
I laughed like a drunk viking and started punching the beach. "I had forgotten about that! Now that you mentioned it, I actually do remember it! Isn't that amazing?"
"It's amazing. It's so damn awesome and spectacular and you could probably write a book about it if you wanted to."
I looked at my brother in mild horror. "Why are you talking to me in that tone?"
"What tone do you mean?"
It's the tone you use when you speak to your yorkshire terrier.
You put on this phony wannabe pop-star voice and start making weird expressions with your lips! You're doing it now with me! What's going on, brother?"
My brother looked into the sand. He shook his head back and forth.
"Ya know what, it really hurts me to hear that you think i'm being rude! I mean, I want you to know that I care for you! How can I prove it? Maybe with a nice oyster dinner?"
"Oh that would be lovely. I do enjoy shellfish and that kinda thing."
"Nice, let's find a clam shack!"
We stood and skipped hand in hand towards the nearest shell fish restaurant.
