The rain was coming down like tiny little pebbles when I woke up this morning. It sounded wonderful through my open window. I screamed out loud, hoping that my Lord would hear me.
"Can you please turn up the volume on that rain!! It sounds so lovely!"
"Of course," boomed a gentle voice that made my bones vibrate and the house shudder. The sound of the rain suddenly got louder and crisper.
I burrowed deeper into my bed, a small smile spreading across my face.
I look over at the door. "Yes?"
"Are you ready for some breakfast, sweety?" It's my mother.
"Yah! What are you making?"
"I was thinking of making us some horse meat and eggs, how does that sound?"
"Horse meat? Why would you make that?"
"Well your father got promoted at work yesterday and his boss decided to throw in a fridge full of fresh horse meat!"
"Oh!" My dad works down at the circus and so he's always coming back with interesting gifts.
"So what do you say, sweety? Shall I start frying up some food? We can eat on the patio and watch the rain come down."
"With horse meat..."
"It'll be delicious!" I hear my mothers footsteps ascend the creaky wooden stairs. I look outside and let out a long sigh of relaxation. Then I accidentally fall back to sleep.
