I wrote this in high school after reading the book "A Tale of Two Cities" Written by: Charles Dickens

Leftover

You were left behind, Getting in trouble all the time. Getting betrayed again And now then

You are merely a leftover.

People step on your honor And stab you from the front. Leaving the shadows as you come.

You are merely a leftover.

The enemy wants you to trust in them Then they leave you dead in the garden, As if you were only trash. And taking your hard-earned cash.

You are merely a leftover

People step on your honor And stab you from the front. (And twisting the knife.) Leaving the shadows as you come.

All you wanted was love, But the lion kept you from her And tore you up.

Only scraps left to gaze her. You were merely a leftover.

Left behind Twisting the knife.

Inspired by the novel: A Tale of Two Cities
