the loss

stuck somewhere between

you sat me down

you sat me down in my room

you sat me down in my room brown carpet scraping softly

you sat me down in my room brown carpet scraping softly against my legs

my heart beating wildly

my heart beating wildly and even though

my heart beating wildly and even though i knew this was coming

my heart beating wildly and even though i knew this was coming,

i didn’t expect it to happen

i didn’t expect it to happen so soon

so precariously

so precariously and promptly

so precariously and promptly from the blue

and as

and as you

and as you cried

and as you cried i wanted

and as you cried i wanted to

and as you cried i wanted to scream

and as you cried i wanted to scream,

this voice in my throat

this voice in my throat stuck somewhere between

this voice in my throat stuck somewhere between my tongue

this voice in my throat stuck somewhere between my tongue and broken heart

this voice in my throat stuck somewhere between my tongue and broken heart,

you’re supposed to be

you’re supposed to be the strong one.

note: i'm prob going to write about this a lot in different ways because there were a lot of feelings going on that day so if you see me writing repeatedly about this, that's why. (this was about the day my dad told me he and my mom were separating).

note: this happened in 2019, before covid, but i'm just now writing about it. so no need to worry lol, i'm ok :)
