When feelings become habits

Habit

I would put music on, Lie down, and pass out.

I would put music on, Lie down, And pass out. Now I cannot.

I would put music on, Lie down, And pass out. Now I cannot. I stare at the wall,

Phoebe wails on,

Phoebe wails on, I waste away.

I used to sleep, And dream of nothing.

I used to sleep, And dream of nothing. I wouldn't write,

Because... Like the lotus,

Because... Like the lotus, My thoughts were tranquil.

Because... Like the lotus, My thoughts were tranquil. But nevermore.

I didn't wallow. I tried not to, at least.

I didn't wallow. I tried not to, at least. I spent my feelings

I didn't wallow. I tried not to, at least. I spent my feelings Until I had none left.

But now, they spring From every look, laugh, and whimper.
