A warning spoken in silence, A scream written in stone

A Challenge VII/XVI

A warning spoken in silence A scream written in stone:

Eyes from another world, intense

Eyes from another world, intense Staring with intent I cannot know.

Unflinching, unblinking but for a few moments to remind me of a longing affection,

Unflinching, unblinking but for a few moments to remind me of a longing affection, And a bit of humanity.

"Foolish boy

"How do you ignore the end, coming quicker with every misplaced emotion,

Harder with every confession And secret confided in fits of reckless honesty?"

Blink.

Spacing out and staring at my carefully curated thoughts

Spilling onto the Cold earth.

It's impossible to recollect,

It's impossible to recollect, And it's impossible to see myself

It's impossible to recollect, And it's impossible to see myself in this pool of dissarray,

only the reflection of another, Distorted by texture and lamplight.

"Fool on a fool's journey!

"If I could reach through this portal and escape this prison and mold the mortal world the way you cannot, that sad smile would die, as I laid waste

"To everything held dear By such a naive, vacuous heart."

Someone else stares back,

Someone else stares back, And they don't love anyone,

Someone else stares back, And they don't love anyone, Especially me,

Someone else stares back, And they don't love anyone, Especially me, Especially her

Someone's staring back, Empty but for desire,

Someone's staring back, Empty but for desire, Fragmented But for despair.
