i never loved the sunlight till i saw its touch on your eyes as they looked at me; a bit lighter, like a new shade of tea with extra sugar and the unique flavor of your company. but i also never got jealous of the sun until i watched her leaving her blessings on your halo so freely.

jealous of the sun

i never loved the sunlight till i saw its touch on your eyes as they looked at me; a bit lighter, like a new shade of tea with extra sugar and the unique flavor of your company.

but i also never got jealous of the sun until i watched her leaving her blessings on your halo so freely.

until i contemplated the way she so possessively embraced you, let her warmth slide down your skin as if you are her favorite among the other seven billion.

and for a moment, i found myself wishing to be something different from the girl sitting next to you.

for a moment, i wished i could be something bigger. something lucky enough to give everyone just the same, but love you a little bit more. without having to justify its devotion for you.
