In today’s social media obsessed world
big companies and teenagers alike are wondering what should they post next on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, et al.
We inherently try to make things more complicated
But knowing what will engage an audience is quite simple
In a visual driven world
It is rare that a photo does not contain some type of imagery
When selecting a photo to post
Look at it & ask two simple questions:
1. Would I make this image my phone’s screensaver?
2. If not, does this picture invoke emotion?
Happiness, anger, sadness, etc.
If the answers to both of those are no
Then your image is not engaging. It does not create meaning to the audience.
