THIN LIPS - A POEM

by writeisescape

MY BITS HAVE DISPERSED MY EYES ARE OTHERS

MY SKIN IS PAPER AND I AM NO LONGER REAL

ITS HARD TO WALK WHEN YOU'RE AS LIGHT AS A FEATHER

I FLY AWAY AND PEOPLE LOOK UP TO STARE

I BLEW AWAY MY BITS OF EMOTION AND NOW THEY ARE IN THE WIND

I HAVE STAYED IN ONE PLACE FOR SO LONG NOW

THAT MY EYES ARE SUCCUMBED TO DARKNESS

I AM A DRAWING BEING SOAKED, THE INK DRINKING IN THE

NEWFOUND WATER

I WAS DROPPED BY A CHILD AND MY TEARS

ARE NO LONGER MY OWN

MY INK HAS FLOATED TO OTHER PAGES, STORIES ALL CREATED,

IN OTHER LANDS, MY SOUL FLIES,

I AM CRUMPLED I AM WET I AM FLYING I AM TORN

MY HEART IS STILL HERE THOUGH SOMEWHERE IN

THIS PAPER THIN WORLD

IT IS DRAWN BIG ALL IN RED CRAYON COLORING MY SKIN

thank you for reading! Feedback is appreciated

sorry the slides were long.
