And that last snowflake of winter--

Poem || Sparkling Snowflake

The light Spring breeze

Caressing the leaves

Fingers softer than dawn;

Bright sunlit dew

Shimmering green

Dragonfly dipping to drink;

Bright sounds of Spring

Hazed misty scent

Sun shining in glee;

And the last winter snowflake,

Alighted upon petal,

Melts under that sun's bright gaze.

It shines and glimmers--

Sparkles and shimmers--

Transforming and melting free,

It melts, quickly, and

What is left behind,

of that last snowflake

Is a tiny puddle

And a drinking honeybee.
