After a while of driving, I glance over at Camryn and her face was full of worry it seemed. She was fidgeting a lot, biting her nails and barely said anything the whole car ride.
"Camryn," I called out. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous you know... I've never actually seen a dead body before."
"Yeah, I understand." I spoke. "It's always a bit frightening the first time around and it makes you feel like you're in a dream and like it's not really happening."
"Yeah..." She said in her soft angel like voice, I could tell she was even more frightened than what she was portraying.
"Here, give me your hand," I reached out to her. Gently she places her hand on my palm. "Things will be okay. Trust me."
"I trust you," she said. Normally this time would be pretty early to dump bodies, but I had been putting it off for a while, so it needed to be done.
Once we arrived at the docks, we both got out of the car and I popped the trunk. That musty whiff of dead flesh hit both of us right in the face and I could tell she was wheezing.
"Here's how it works, I grab the upper, you grab the lower and we walk them over to the edge and throw them overboard.
There's weights tied to their ankle to make sure they don't come floating back up. Easy enough right?"
"Right," she said.
I grabbed the first body putting my hands underneath his arm pits and Camryn grabbed a hold of his feet.
"Woah this is kinda heavy," she trembled.
We walked it over towards the edge of the dock and threw the body in. Splash! The body went sinking down into the ocean.
Camryn began wiping her hands off on the ground trying to get that musty odor off of her hands. She had a face full of disgust.
"One down, one to go," I said as we both walked back toward the car. I lifted the second body up in the same fashion as the last and Camryn grabbed the lower body again.
I could tell her body was weakening it seemed as if she was kind of dragging it along the dock. Suddenly she dropped the guys lower body down on the dock. Her face was pale.
"What's the matter? You okay?" I asked. She was hyperventilating and shaking. "Deep breath, Camryn, it'll be okay. Come here." I reached out my hand to her, but she backed away.
"No..." Her voice shook. Instantly she ran over to the edge of the docks and started puking into the water.
I was hesitant to go over because I always hated the smell of puke and watching people do it, but she needed reassurance now more than ever. I set the body down and went over to her.
I began caressing her back as she coughed trying to empty out her intestines. "That's it, let it all out." She began sobbing.
"I'm sorry," she cried. "I'm a pussy."
"Don't be sorry, it's your first time seeing something like this, of course you're going to be scared shitless."
"Was your first time this bad?"
"Just about. I didn't puke, but I had the image in my head for days. It was all I thought about. I had nightmares about it. I even shed a couple tears over it too." I told her.
"After awhile you get used to it." I said as she finished coughing up the rest of what was left inside of her.
"I'm not going to snitch," she said.
"Didn't think you would, I trust you," I comforted her. I stood up and started heading back towards the body and she followed. "You ready?"
"Yes," she assured me as we lifted the corpse up and threw it overboard.
"Good job, you just took care of your first body. You did a good job holding yourself together even though it's hard."
"Thank you, I'm just glad I got to do it with you." She said as we walked back to the car.
"Can I tell you something?" She asked. My heart stopped for a second. I didn't know what it was that she would say next.
"Sure, go ahead."
"I really appreciate you comforting me during my little break down over there.. To be the heartless killer that everyone portrays you to be, you're actually really sweet."
"No problem, we all need a little reassurance sometimes and to hear that everything will be okay." I said.
"I want to be your Bonnie," she said.
"You know, like Bonnie and Clyde. I want to be that girl you can trust with anything."
"I know what you meant, I was just confused because I thought you already were." I looked into her eyes, she was smiling. I grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to me.
She was still a bit shaky and I could smell the puke on her breath.
"Once we get back to the house, the first thing you need to do is gargle some mouthwash," I joked. She gave a look of embarrassment.
I kissed her on the cheek and watched as her face turned a bright red.
"Come on, we better get out of here before someone notices us," I told her.
We got back in the car together and drove back to the house.
