to the child that swore he loved me (oh, how the tables have turned)

by thesadmermaids

and you see me by the window, a new toy on display, and all you think is that you want, and so, dear boy, you take

and for a while, we’re happy, just a child and something new, something different, and you promise: forever, just us two

and suddenly, it’s over and you tell me: that’s enough, i’m leaving you for better things, it’s time now to grow up

so you leave me and you love her and i’m left here in the dark the mem'ry of your hands on me, still tearing me apart

and for a while, you’re happy, just a man and someone new, someone different, and she’ll promise: forever, just us two

and suddenly, it’s over and she’ll tell you: that’s enough, i’m leaving you for better things, it’s time now to grow up

and she leaves you like you left me in the memories of your childhood and i’ll smile as you admit no one could love you quite like i could - leonida x
