noEVERYthing

I once had nothing and ended up nothing. I was a child of a poor family of five. Growing up as the youngest child, I never really had a toy nor proper clothes.

My parents can barely provide us three meals a day.

So as a child gifted with nothing but dreams and imagination, what I had was hope, and faith, and courage.

I dreamed a lot of things and imagined a lot of scenarios. Experiencing poverty had me wishing to become rich and buy all the things that I can afford.

Then my dad hit the jackpot.

My mom suddenly got discovered.

My parents became instantly famous and rich.

Then we became rich.

And as we gained more zeros in the end of the amount of our bank accounts, we also gained connections.

We gained a lot of things!

BUT

we lost more than what you think.

As we gained connections with other we lost ours between the family.

Yet we gained connections, but never friends.

We gained luxurious things as we gained cheap attitudes.

Growing up as the youngest child, I never really had a toy nor proper clothes.

But here I am, wearing the clothes I never thought I would.

Playing toys I never would have,

and playing people I never should have.

As a child gifted with nothing but dreams and imagination, what I had was hope, and faith, and courage.

They were my childhood possessions.

And I lost them.

Experiencing poverty had me wishing to become rich and buy all the things that I can afford.

Now, experiencing wealth had me thinking "How I wish money can buy what I lost."
