A Few Of My Favorite Horror Films (In No Particular Order)

by tbanarchy

Freddy vs. Jason

The ultimate horror battle between two of the most iconic horror figures of all-time Freddy Krueger & Jason Voorhees. This film is cheesy by today's "horror porn" standards but that's OK by me!

The Hitcher

Starring C. Thomas Howell & Rutger Hauer at his creepy evil best, this flick shows why maybe-just maybe!-you SHOULDN'T pick up hitchhikers. Plus there's Jennifer Jason Leigh torn apart by semis!

A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

Besides Freddy vs. Jason, this is my most favorite A Nightmare On Elm Street movie in the series. (Is it just me or does Freddy tend to say "the B word" a lot? Just saying!)

Satan's Little Helper

This is a horror B-movie about a masked murderer who terrorizes a community on Halloween with the unwitting help of a little boy. The murderer also doesn't say a thing throughout the whole movie.

Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan

I wanted to include at least one Friday the 13th flick on this list besides Freddy vs. Jason, and I think this was actually one of the better ones.

The Lost Boys

Hands down this is one of my favorite vampire horror flicks of all-time. "Death by stereo!" indeed! And an added bonus is there are NO "sparkly" vampires in this flick as in others (Twilight!)!

Land Of The Dead

I admit I'm not much on zombies but I did actually like this zombie flick directed by George A. Romero who also directed the classic Night Of The Living Dead. Plus this film has Asia Argento!

Silent Night Deadly Night (The Original & The Reboot)

When the original came out pressure groups got it taken out of theaters because they objected to a homicidal Santa Claus. The reboot has the same plot. And the woodchipper scene is a classic!

Santa's Slay

Another horror flick featuring a homicidal Santa Claus, this film is more "comedic" than Silent Night Deadly Night and stars pro-wrestler Bill Goldberg as the homicidal Santa. Merry Christmas!

Motel Hell

Farmer Vincent makes meat that pretty much everyone agrees is the MOST delicious. His secret ingredient? That's right! Human flesh! And, just think, you thought McDonald's pink slime was bad!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

The sequel to the classic horror flick The Texas Chainsaw Massacre loosely based on serial killer Ed Gein, this film stars the late Dennis Hopper who actually does "battle" with Leatherface.

Halloween H2O

I admit I'm not the biggest Halloween movie fan as Michael Myers wasn't my favorite horror baddie like, say, Freddy Krueger but I felt this was one of the better ones starring Jamie Lee Curtis.

Dead Alive (also known as Braindead)

This "comedy" zombie horror flick was directed by none other than Peter Jackson (yes, the Hobbit guy himself!) and shows the "hero" fighting off the zombie horde with none other than a lawnmower!

Bride Of Chucky

This is one of the MANY Child's Play sequels featuring Chucky the killer doll and his doll girlfriend (played by sexy Jennifer Tilly). Sure it's cheesy but not nearly as cheesy as Seed Of Chucky!

Army Of Darkness

This is the third installment of the cult horror classic Evil Dead starring one of my all-time faves Bruce Campbell as the inept "hero" Ash who keeps inadvertently bringing the dead back to life!

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Another horror "comedy" about a couple of good ol' boys who, through a series of hilarious mishaps, gets mistaken for a couple of redneck serial killers! And, yes, there's a woodchipper scene!

What's everyone's pic for fave horror film? Let me know in the comments below!
