When you look at me do you see it?
The excruciating pain that is held in my eyes.
If the eyes are the windows to the soul,
Then mine are shattered
And the contents decimated.
All this is because of the shredding love I hold for you
Within this bleeding heart of mine.
I look at you through stained glass splinters
Only dreaming that one day you would wake up
And see the shards that fall for you.
I want to give up and let it all fade away
But I don't know if I can love again
Even though loving you is death
At least I can feel it.
