Nothing is there when he looks in the glass.

The Man in the Glass

by Profe Steve

The man in the glass has no reflection,

The man in the glass has no reflection, He can’t see his face, there is no connection.

When others look at him, do they just see a shell

When others look at him, do they just see a shell That’s empty inside; do they know his hell?

Do they feel the ache and sense his deep pain,

Do they feel the ache and sense his deep pain, Do they see gray clouds all filled up with rain?

He can’t see himself, a soul misbegotten,

He can’t see himself, a soul misbegotten, He glances away and is quickly forgotten.

A mist or a vapor, a wisp of a gas,

A mist or a vapor, a wisp of a gas, Nothing is there when he looks in the glass.

*** Aside: I should note that I do not feel as if I go through life unnoticed. I used to. I used to question my existence, but no longer.

Now I see myself reflected in the eyes of my students and I know I make a difference. On the other hand, although I use a mirror to shave, comb my hair, and all those things, I don't truly SEE my physical reflection. Does anyone else experience that? ^-.-^

My kids made Christmas ornaments this week. They decided I should be the "star" on top.
