Days of summer magic fade too soon.

Autumn

by Profe Steve

Summer magic fades too soon,

Summer magic fades too soon, Replaced by fireside frosty air,

Summer magic fades too soon, Replaced by fireside frosty air, Cuddled ‘neath the harvest moon,

Summer magic fades too soon, Replaced by fireside frosty air, Cuddled ‘neath the harvest moon, Secret sighs and whispers share.

Joyous leaves burst forth in gold,

Joyous leaves burst forth in gold, And soft lay down their yearly toil,

Joyous leaves burst forth in gold, And soft lay down their yearly toil, To waft away to realms untold,

Joyous leaves burst forth in gold, And soft lay down their yearly toil, To waft away to realms untold, And leave behind this mortal coil.

Downy, itchy sweaters warm,

Downy, itchy sweaters warm, Steaming mug of cocoa sweet.

Downy, itchy sweaters warm, Steaming mug of cocoa sweet. Gloves and hats and scarves adorn,

Downy, itchy sweaters warm, Steaming mug of cocoa sweet. Gloves and hats and scarves adorn, Wrapped in plush cocoon of heat.

Sun sets early to his bed,

Sun sets early to his bed, Selene rules her nightly realm.

Sun sets early to his bed, Selene rules her nightly realm. Weary Earth lays down her head,

Sun sets early to his bed, Selene rules her nightly realm. Weary Earth lays down her head, Below the barren oak and elm.

All the world now holds its breath,

All the world now holds its breath, Biding through the drifting snow,

All the world now holds its breath, Biding through the drifting snow, For spring’s rebirth from winter’s death,

All the world now holds its breath, Biding through the drifting snow, For spring’s rebirth from winter’s death, And once again the warm wind blows.
