Sunshine will come back, so will your heart.

The Light at the End

A commute is just another journey back to my heart,

A commute is just another journey back to my heart, undressing the marionette strings that direct my day.

The clouds cough their cacophonic maelstrom of grey over the horizon’s headache,

The clouds cough their cacophonic maelstrom of grey over the horizon’s headache, crying a drumroll of rain that pitter-patter-paints my umbrella in tears.

The murky mist is an invisible membrane of melancholy,

The murky mist is an invisible membrane of melancholy, a dulled donor of darkness dusking too early.

But the veiled sunset rips through the ashen atmosphere like a firestorm,

But the veiled sunset rips through the ashen atmosphere like a firestorm, slivers of gold that capture the rapture of eventide

But the veiled sunset rips through the ashen atmosphere like a firestorm, slivers of gold that capture the rapture of eventide like fingers and friends pointing me home.

Sun plays peekaboo and colours kisses on my cheek,

Sun plays peekaboo and colours kisses on my cheek, laughing in tangerine sensations that splash rainbows

Sun plays peekaboo and colours kisses on my cheek, laughing in tangerine sensations that splash rainbows before the glum grey gradient stitches the sunshine behind the curtain.

These moments sparkle into memories and dreams, though.

Silhouettes and shadows do not forget

Silhouettes and shadows do not forget the streaks of sunrise

Silhouettes and shadows do not forget the streaks of sunrise and the rays of romance

Silhouettes and shadows do not forget the streaks of sunrise and the rays of romance that let them come out and play.

Tomorrow is their best friend.

(Aside) So, I decided to write something today! :D I am actually very happy with how this piece turned out, and it was inspired by an actual commute home, from school, as well as an older piece of mine on here ('My Sunset Face').

I wanted to do something more simple, so I hope that you all didn't have to pull your dictionaries out for this one. :) I had a lot of fun writing this piece, too, which I haven't had for quite some time. I hope that shows!

Also, I wanted to share an idea with you all for a series of pieces. Some of you might remember a seven-part story that I wrote on artificial intelligence back from April to August, and I had an idea for another story!

The baseline idea is emotions and virtual reality, all around this phrase -- 'how I can escape reality'. It might be longer than the AI story, but it will also be in an anthology form, with each part being its own self-contained story that captures a different side of my idea.

Some of them may be triumphant, some heartbreaking, some inspirational. They will all feel different but fit into that idea, and I am very excited to start writing it! Let me know what you think of that idea, and thank you! :)

As always, take care, Commaful, thank you all so much for reading and for your constant support, and keep on writing! Stay awesome! <3
