This is my first time writing poetry, please let me know what you think!

When I think of beauty, I think of you When I think of perfection, I think of you When I need a safe space in my head You're the first one to come to mind All of these things you see in yourself that you don't like Are the reason I can't look away

The flaws you think you may have Or the imperfections you think you possess Are the things I can't get out of my head I've never been able to perceive them as bad things Because when I look at the whole person The only thing I can see is true beauty

When you think of beauty All the skinny people lined up Long hair, short face Small nose, big eyes Long legs, small feet Big butt, small waist Small shoulders, big boobs But when I think of beauty My idea does not match up with yours You wouldn't believe my idea of beauty Because the only example I can think of is you

Inside and out, there is not one thing I don't love Where you see a flaw I see a thing about you I notice that makes you more special The curve in your nose The moles on your back The sadness in your heart The emptiness you feel Things you look at and wish they were gone Are the things I look at and think

I am truly lucky to have you in front of me Because I have seen everything that makes you human And I would count all the stars in the sky Just for you to see you have as many things I love about you As the number of stars I just counted
