A thousand steps all around me. Every voice, every breath, every soul is closing in around me. My suffocating body is squeezed into submission from everyday society.
Who are these people? What do they want? Eyes linger over my panicking form and whispers of disapproval flood my ears. With every word softly uttered laced with criticism my bones are breaking. One by one. My vital insides are crushed together in a violent swam of public destruction. “This is the end.”
Suddenly, my brain steam rolls back into reality. My burning lungs remember to breath. My clenched white knuckles release their tight hold. I see the exit sign. “I will survive.”
