Something was dreadfully wrong with this situation. I didn't think that any humans could have discovered the 99 lives types- despite denying my claim and throwing me in the jail.
I desperately needed food after the trek, and all I could think about was going back to my now dust covered home.
There was so many things I missed… Suddenly the clamour of voices shattered my thoughts. “Are the correct materials for the summon here?” A deep man’s voice asked.
“Obviously!” Shrieked a woman’s voice. “All of us are ready! We’ve waited twenty years for this!” So they were following my claim. No wonder nobody believed me.
What in the world were they talking about though?
“The sacrifice?” grumbled a low woman’s voice.
“That’s obvious! You’re here!” Complained the other woman. “Plus, the inhuman’s blood is spilt here!” Now an eerie feeling crept into my mind. I craned my neck around and nearly choked.
The high pitched woman’s voice belonged to one of my colleagues. She had betrayed us… Jennifer… My teeth settled to a grit.
The man had been the one to first throw me in jail; Sheriff Cam- and the woman was the only one I didn't fully recognize… The only thing I knew about her, was her yellow eyes.
They had taken a human hybrid. Dollie yanked me back behind our hiding place.
“What did you hear?” She asked quietly. I wrote it down. Her mouth widened in an ‘o’. The yellow eyed woman glanced around nervously biting the edge of her lip.
Her eyes temporarily met with mine, shot open and then turned quickly around. She had seen me… was the a bad or a good thing?
“The prisoner’s alert system went up.” The man said. “Any ideas why? I don’t remember anyone else or anything else that could have shocked them.” So he was their monitor agent.
I knew Jennifer had the power to heal. So as far as the task went- and our information; I was pretty sure even Dollie could overpower those two, and rescue the woman.
I didn't want to kill them… but if it was necessary… Cha- Ching!
The loud sound of a blade scraping across flesh bolted me into action- if the ritual was already in progress… then I was too late. It was.
Among the mound of rubble the woman’s body rose in a clumsy fashion. Machaau silver and white was flooding into her body. That meant something was going to attack.
I expanded the ceiling only managing to crush the two traitors. The woman was going to be possessed pretty soon. I braced myself. My powers weren’t going to be of much use with the woman here.
And I was full out of Machaau. “Dollie. Do something. Go get help.” I ordered. This was the problem with being scouts. The rest of the team was nowhere close to help. Please let them get here so-
