Constant pain is a good sign that moving on is necessary.

I Jumped Hoping I Wouldn't Drown

I took your words Each striking letter

Buried myself in careful ignorance Let you anchor me in denial

You tied my veins to this ship and gave me the sail As if you knew we’d fail As if you cared

So I a one-man crew in a two-person boat Steered us through storm after storm Ignoring your tendency to float

To others To her Far from here Far from us

Until I finally decided, the storm was too great I looked at you You stared ahead

I decided it was easier to jump

Sincerely, Elle
