Poem about how things have lost their colours.

Grey Mind

by shygirl

Once upon a time. A time that was not too far away not everything was grey. There were so many colours that shaped every moment of my life.

Happy was yellow, mad was burning red, contempt was blue, love was pale pink, fear was black, they mixed to make green and blue and purple and there was sad and numb which was the greyest grey.

It didn't happen all at once but one by one the colours in my head were fading to grey. People said oh it's all in my head. I'm sure it's true.

But nothing in my mind is what it once was. Smoke, hair, clouds, sky sun. All grey. In the real world I know they are as vibrant as ever so it surely must be my problematic mind.

This was beautifully written. You have a deep association with the English language. Great job!!!!!
