A pious man was once asked,
"How is it, that you can come to know a person a whole lifetime and still not understand each other and with a person you have only just met,
it can feel like you have known each other for a whole lifetime.’’
The pious man explained,
“This is because some of us have already met before.
We met a long time ago before anything else was created, before our body and minds were formed. We met many years ago in the world of the souls.
If you meet a person in this world, you two have already met in the world of the souls.
And it might be that in the world of the souls, you two were very close.’’
You see, the soul has been given its own heart, language and ears.
The soul recognizes not by sight or memory as we know it,
it recognizes by the very pure essences that resides in the soul.
Time and space are not relevant for the soul.
The soul has its own heart and it will indeed recognize its old friends.
It will miss and yearn for its old friends.
You might be scattered around this world but if you meet an old friend, even if it is for a second, you understand each other. You feel comfortable and safe with each other.
This old friend of yours is not always a lover. As many of us might think and many misunderstand this connection, for love or in worse case, lust.
He can be a complete stranger or an old person you’ve helped.
Maybe a person you feel the need to get close too.
This person may have eyes you simply just understand. The eyes are the windows to the soul.
So, if you one day recognize something in a stranger’s eyes, you might have met your old friend.
