Christmas, supposedly the time when the family comes together,
when we show our love to each other,
and appreciate us a bit.
only a bit.
We are all together,
with no second thoughts,
all together, next to each other.
The time when we put our egoistic nature in the bottom drawer,
and we lock it, to make sure we don't open it accidentally.
We put our loved ones first,
cause maybe that's the only thing that can make our hearts full.
Five letters that switch the meaning of a whole sentence.
my mum called.
she'll be late.
I was waiting for her in anticipation.
for her to yell about my messy room.
for her to whine a bit, that we never actually saw that christmas movie.
for us to snuggle on the couch.
and even if dad didn't feel like joining us, he could sit on the computer if he wanted.
providing he's in the same room,
with the fireplace burning,
and with snoring as background music,
and a hug,
I'll be alone this christmas.
i don't like loneliness.
it scares me.
