We're in an exciting time.
Apps have reached maturity. People don't like downloading them anymore. It's been 8 years since they got big, anyway.
Conversation is the new app & AI is the new app store.
Why download an app to order Domino's pizza when you can just ask an AI to do it: "Get me a large pizza to the same place as last time"
Life is going to get so easy.
There are 3 patterns that explain why this is happening now.
1. We hate downloading & signing up for new apps
Really? Another one?
2. There's too much clutter
Nobody wants you to run out of things to look at.
3. Apps don't understand us.
They simply aren't personal enough. My apps should know what I enjoy.
Conversation-based services solve these issues.
Finally, apps can remember me. They're simple and smart
But mobile apps will not disappear.
We just want more! As more tech is available, our needs grow as well. For example, websites are still needed every day.
So what's next?
Apps will become hyper-personal, inter-app communication will get better, and user experience will be fluid, not fixed And this is just the tip of the iceberg!
Conversational commerce will revolutionize tech.
Until apps can catch up to the standards that consumers demand, I am excited to see how chat-based apps change how we inter with technology.
