Blue pill? Red pill? Part four of my chronicles as I step up as the sole carer for my mother for nine days.

Day three of nine

5 pills with breakfast.

5 pills with breakfast. 4 pills with dinner.

5 pills with breakfast. 4 pills with dinner. 2 large pink ones. One small pink.

5 pills with breakfast. 4 pills with dinner. 2 large pink ones. One small pink. The tiny yellow pill. And the white one. Morning-only

Day one a took I picture to make sure I got it right.

Day one a took I picture to make sure I got it right. By day three, I've got it down pat.

Win for me.

When it comes to pills. I'm a red pill kind of guy.

I like truth. Examination.

I like to solve problems.

And you can't solve problems.

Unless you understand the problem.

Not this week, though.

This week, I'm all about the blue pill.

Now, since my mother's memories started muddling.

I've learned that fact has begun to give way to fiction.

I've learned that fact has begun to give way to fiction. Albeit, in a random kind of way.

One minute, you're on Chapter 10.

The next you're back on Chapter 3.

So nothing really make a lot of sense.

I know if I ask "how was your day?".

The answer will be entirely creation.

I know when she say's: "I've already had a shower".

She hasn't.

However, the moment I surrendered to her reality.

Swallowed the blue pill.

Showed genuine interest. Encouraged her to talk. Asked questions. Prompted her for more.

The matrix suddenly got a whole lot more interesting.

First of all, I found out that my mother had once been a member of the Royal Family

One day she bashed someone to hell.

Her words not mine.

In fact she went to hell. Bashed a few more people.

And escaped.

But sometimes goes back to see the friends she made.

The lady who came to help her shower.

Apparently has a thriving plastic bag business.

And the neighbours over the road.

Affairs. Betrayal. Scandals.

Who knew?

Pass me another blue pill, please.
