Something simple to ease myself back into writing!

Early Summer´s Ball

I was raised from dreamless sleep by the melody of a thousand blended notes.

Crickets twanging softly, birds singing in sync

Crickets twanging softly, birds singing in sync, All in a grandiose symphony

And stretching before me - a field of colours,

Ears of wheat tangled in embrace, slow dancing

Ears of wheat tangled in embrace, slow dancing, swaying to the rhythm of the wind.

Bouquets of lavender trailing their sweet perfume, sunflowers bowing, displaying their golden crowns,

And from their perch in the sky, the host sisters smiled radiantly down at me,

And from their perch in the sky, the host sisters smiled radiantly down at me, Welcoming me to their early summer´s ball.
