This is a port of one of my favorite poems that I've written that I've already posted on WattPad. Posting it here in order to build some sort of foundation for future writing I post on this site.

Chameleon 2

I've not witnessed a canopy to blot out the sky,

so might I suppose it never has?

I've never heard the Mona Lisa regarded as a smear,

so who's to claim it inimitable?

What unmitigated gall to flaunt such sick feathers

and ponder why the peacocks flee -

To be quarantined to a low-hanging cloud

and attempt to bottle the Sun

Blind are we to color should the hue displease

binded are our feet should the trek prove too steep,

yet wherever we find clean water, we drink,

even be it only a puddle on the palace floor.

I cannot say what has confined us to this cube

as I've be taught to see no corners -

these hands are wet and riddled with cuts

ordinarily I'd bite my tongue but I'm inclined to say...

I've not witnessed a canopy to blot out the sky

but that doesn't mean it never has -

I've never heard the Mona Lisa regarded as a smear,

so I'll just say I've never seen her smile
