Birds were fluttering and chirping as Sakura trees were blooming. I inhaled the morning air as I stood outside the school gates. Today starts my first day here!
I sit in the assembly hall as the principal had just finished welcoming all of the early attendees.
He then proceeded to pass the microphone over to a black haired boy whom, behind his spectacles, had the face of a professional.
"I thank all of you that have arrived. This school has been my sacred ground, as well as my mother's, and my grandfather before her.
I am well aware that some of you may not have the same sentiment for this school as I do, but just know that it is indeed a magnificent school, and over the years of your time here,
you will come to understand just how special it is. I believe each and every one of you are special in your unique way, therefore, let your talent bloom as you age.
Achieve what you can achieve, accomplish what you can accomplish, strive for what you can strive.
The sky is not the limit, for there IS NO LIMIT! Now, with that said, I look forward to seeing how this school changes you. A good today, a better tomorrow.
The principal now has words of wisdom to impart onto you."
As the principal takes back the mic, I notice him sweating and shaking in awe of what his ears bore witness to.
As he spoke, his words shake, and tears wells up in his eyes "I-I could not have said any of it better myself. In fact, I don't think anyone could have.
You manage to outdo yourself with each passing year at these assemblies, and I will deeply miss hearing your sage advice for the future generations.
Arigatou gozaimasu, Tenryou-san! Dismissed!" The principal walks off the stage in tears, with the president holding back his own.
As we enter homeroom, I see a tanned redhead already sitting in the second seat from the back, next to the window, blankly looking out of it, onto the empty track below.
(This'll be a fun year), I thought to myself.
