Heroin

The needle is going to sting his arm It's the beginning of a glum ritual His body has surrendered, no sign of alarm Prepared to take the dose, the moment is fatal

Relief for this chemical dependency It will come when the drug starts flowing trough his veins He must receive his dose urgently A momentary escape from those heavy chains

His arms are visibly wounded In too many occasions, the needles have injected the same poison Neither the first nor the last prick Through the many scars and the purplish skin, havoc is done

God shed a tear for the path his son chose to follow Mixed with his blood, heroin spreads away With a smile, he falls down into the hollow He found a purpose for this day

He closes his eyes and falls asleep Entering the realm of dreams and illusions When the trance is over, it's time to creep Out again to the badlands of nightmares and disillusions
