Going the long way home was something Kyuno didn't do often. It was illogical, a waste of time.
Yet today, something drew him in, curiosity twisting and twirling and spiralling around and tainting his mind like black dye in water. Kyuno knew something was up.
After all, he seemed like the kind of person who has completely correct hunches. But this was different.
Usually, his gut feelings would draw him in like a cat on the side of the road, begging to be petted. This. This was different.
Invisible walls pushed him like a maze, closing up behind him, leaving the magnetic pull to draw him in, slowly and gently suffocating the boy.
Unbeknownst to him, in his wake, small fading tendrils of darkness spread like blood, mutating and churning before fading like hope, leaving a void. And from this void came Death.
Feasting on the abyss and stalking the boy for more. Kyuno stopped, begging for a challenge, and challenge came. Death was following, and came before the boy. "Take me.
" He said, eyes blind and unseeing. "There is nothing left for me here." He whispered, voice cracking. And Death took him, stolen in the night, leaving a body - a husk - behind.
