On my right there is a river, it flows swift and strong
Steam rises from the surface going to the sky above
There are hot springs through subtle cracks and faults and animals floating on the surface of the water. Their flesh cooking and water entering their mouths, cooking them from the inside.
Their eyes turn milky white as they die.
I kneel down next to the river and drink the water, taking in the vapor.
As I look to my left, there are caves.
There is something about caves that draws you in. As you pass through the portal between light and dark, you enter a new world, a place of perpetual gloom, of earthly smells, of hushed silence.
