It was a dark evening and the library was quiet and almost completely empty for all students were partying in their common rooms because it was the end of the year.
All students except for Hermione Granger. She was in the library, still stressed out about how she did on the end of the year exams.
Everyone told her she probably did perfect but she of course, being Hermione, thought she failed.
"The Bundimun oozes a secretion which rots away the very foundations of the dwelling in which it is found.", Hermione read aloud.
"I bet I failed the Herbology exam! I think I missed question 17!"
"Let's put on a bet then." Came a soft whisper from somewhere in the library.
Hermione looked up from her book and looked around the library, a look of nervousness on her face.
"I bet that you got better than a perfect score." The soft voice came again.
"Wh-who are you? Where are you?" Hermione stammered. She was becoming scared.
Around the corner of shelves full of books, came Draco Malfoy. Blonde and pale.
"Why are you here?" Hermione sneered.
"Thought I might find you here." Draco looked down at his feet. His voice didn't sound cold like it usually did.
"What do you want with me?" Hermione slammed her book closed.
Draco looked up uncertainly. "Because I... I just wanted to see you"
"See me? See me?!" Hermione raised her voice, "Why on earth would you want to see me?!"
"I wanted to apologize for everything I've ever done to you"
"Apologize?!", Hermione was almost shouting by now, "After everything you've done to me and my friends?! You are the most insecure, stupid, selfish person I have ever met!"
And with that, Hermione got up, swung her book under her shoulder, and stormed out of the room.
Hermione turned the corner and leaned back against the wall. She took in a long breath and closed her eyes.
Hermione whipped around just to see Draco. She was very surprised because he has never called her by her first name before. Hermione try to walk away again but Draco stopped her.
"Let me go!"
"Hermione please let me talk" Draco pleaded with her
"No! You have no place to speak!"
"Fine. Then let me speak with my actions"
Draco pinned Hermione to the wall. She held her breath. She didn't know what he was doing. Draco moved in. Hermione was finally breathing again but slow breaths. She was scared.
He was getting closer. She wanted to yell but she couldn't for all words were taken away and she could not speak. His lips touched her soft cheek. It was a weird feeling.
Weird because she expected it to be cold and harsh, but it was warm and soft and, somehow, wonderful.
Draco walked away, back to the Slytherin common room. Hermione fell softly to the ground. She was confused. At what just happened and at her own feelings.
