Every morning we go for a walk Through the streets that create our neighborhood I want my son to experience life And to see that for the most part, people are good
We walk by our neighbors who jog, sit, or pray And dogs biting sticks near children who play With their care givers watching, whether happy or sad This world can be tough, we have to hide when we’re mad
For we want our children to experience love And see kindness in strangers A safe place to be part of
So each morning we walk by the young and the old We smile or wave, it depends on how bold We’re feeling that day and if eyes shine bright Because we want our neighbors to feel our light
Despite the masks that cover each face Intentions and deeds can transform our shared space p.s.
