collections of events I remembered as a child.

3. Nostalgia

by pimsiree

Holding my teddy bear with the big brown eyes, under my arm, next to my heart.

Cycling through the yard in front of our house. In a loop, over and over again.

A bottle filled with chocolate milk in my mouth; lying on the queen size bed.

Climbing the walls with my brothers, to feed the horse next to our house.

Sitting on the swing set, one with the zebra print one with plain white paint, laughing until our stomach hurts.

Squatting with my three-legged dog, wondering what was he going bark at.

Painting a masterpiece with grandma's lipstick, on a bathroom window, grinning.

Skipping down the long driveway, pretending that I was filming a music video.

Quietly sitting in my brother's piano lesson, hoping that one day I could play.

Sleeping, right arm hugging my teddy bear, left hand holding my brother's hand, peacefully.

Watching a T.V. while eating my breakfast, in a small, cozy dining room.

You just emotionally pulled me into the past with that positive upbeat memory. I found myself reminiscing instead of speed reading. The free verse you constructed allows for a universal message. The Stanzas were excellent with hteir on word introduction. Very good effort. Do you play the piano yet? That was a sweet piece.
