Seldom has he been around to watch us grow,
Stolen away by a need to make the home whole.
The long face of mother
tells us how she long for him,
Her eye reveals thoughts of how she misses him
A Heavy heart she carrys,
Yet she hides it with a smile.
She trys her best to become both,
Days without him makes the light in her dim.
Many a night I catch her cry,
Her tears socking the bedsheets,
Praying for his safe return.
