You loved writing poems and I loved watching you write them. But now you're gone. I'm all alone now.

YOU WERE MY POET AND NOW YOU'RE GONE

GLANCING AT THE SCARLET LEAVES,

MY EMPTY MIND BEGINS TO WANDER

I THINK ABOUT THE POEMS YOU WEAVED

THAT MELANCHOLIC MORNING IN DECEMBER

I SAT BY YOUR SIDE

SIPPING WARM MACCHIATO COFFEE

WATCHING YOU TYPE

MADE ME FEEL A BIT GLOOMY

WAS IT BECAUSE I WOULDN'T SEE YOU AGAIN?

OR BECAUSE OF THE LOUD SILENCE BETWEEN US?

I WILL NEVER KNOW, BUT ONLY ONE THING IS QUITE CERTAIN

WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE WAY IT ONCE WAS

DON'T YOU REMEMBER

ALL THOSE TIMES WE SPENT POSSESSING EACH OTHER ON THE SOFT SANDY BEACH

AND ALL THOSE TIMES WE SPENT CREATING OUR OWN CONSTELLATIONS UNDER THE GLITTERING NIGHT SKY?

ALL THE FOND MEMORIES WE'VE SHARED NOW SEEM SO OUT OF REACH

AS I SILENTLY OBSERVE YOU WITH TEARS THREATENING TO FALL FROM MY SAPPHIRE EYES

YOU WERE GOING TO A FARAWAY PLACE

ONE I COULD ONLY DREAM OF GOING TO

YOU WANTED TO LIVE LIFE AT YOUR OWN PACE

WITHOUT ME CONSTANTLY BERATING YOU

ALAS! MY DEAREST SWEETHEART, FORGIVE ME

FOR I HAVE DEMANDED TOO MUCH FROM YOU

NOW YOU ARE IN A PARADISE NOT FOR ME TO SEE

AND YET MY LOVE FOR YOU REMAINS STEADFAST AND TRUE

MY LOVE, YOU MAY NOT BELIEVE ME,

THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND

BUT PLEASE KNOW THAT EVERYTHING WE'VE SHARED STAYS IN MY MIND AND BODY

LIKE THE EMOTIONS IN THIS POEM I HOLD IN MY HAND

Stories We Think You'll Love 💕
